Racing icon Mick, aged 59, has become the delighted parent of a Formula 1 racer.
The MotoGP fraternity has united in extending their congratulations to the overjoyed father and son duo.
Australian compatriot Remy Gardner, along with Fabio Quartararo, Loris Capirossi, Dani Pedrosa, Fabio di Giannantonio, and Raul Fernandez, extended their heartfelt wishes to both the elder and younger Doohan.
Mick's legendary streak of winning the 500cc world championships five times in a row secured his place in the annals of history.
In 1998, Mick had the opportunity to test drive a Williams Formula One vehicle and shared a close friendship with Michael Schumacher.
Schumacher chose the name 'Mick' for his son as a nod to his respect and esteem for Mick Doohan.
Doohan has become a more common presence in the F1 paddock compared to the MotoGP paddock, as he guides his son's ascending career.
Over the previous two seasons, Jack has served as a reserve and test driver for the Alpine team, while also competing in the Formula 2 series.
He has successfully outperformed competitors, including Mick Schumacher, to clinch a permanent F1 position with Alpine for the 2025 season.
Doohan's impressive racing legacy will now extend to four-wheeled competition through his son Jack.
