Miguel Oliveira "believes his spot is confirmed" with the Pramac Yamaha MotoGP squad
Portuguese racer provides recent insights on his MotoGP career prospects
Miguel Oliveira has indicated that it's too early for him to discuss his MotoGP prospects for 2025, yet he has nearly guaranteed his position with Pramac Yamaha.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Somkiat Chantra is set to join LCR and Fermin Aldeguer will be with Gresini for the 2025 season, leaving only the dual vacancies at Pramac Racing Yamaha still open.
Nonetheless, throughout much of August, it was widely recognized that Jack Miller and Oliveira would be joining Pramac, transitioning from Ducati to Yamaha equipment for the upcoming year.
In Austria, Oliveira revealed that talks with Yamaha had taken place, and ahead of the upcoming Aragon Grand Prix, he has virtually confirmed that the agreement is finalized.
When TNT Sport inquired about his future plans, the driver who has clinched five grand prix victories responded, “Not much, unfortunately. We’re awaiting an official statement.
"For the last few weeks, as I've mentioned before, we've been in discussions with Yamaha regarding the Pramac position."
"Until there's an official announcement regarding this matter, I must exercise caution in my remarks."
"However, I believe the situation is under control, and all we can do is focus on the here and now, striving to excel with the Trackhouse team."
For some time, Oliveira has been associated with Pramac, given the team's apparent strategy to pair an experienced rider with a newcomer.
Nonetheless, due to Yamaha's urgent requirement to rapidly climb the rankings in 2024, Pramac will now be equipped with two seasoned riders.
Oliveira, a participant in MotoGP races since 2019, feels he has yet to achieve his peak performance.
"Indeed, I am not elderly," he further stated.
"At 29, I definitely sense that I haven't fully realized my capabilities. I'm convinced of that. There have been a few missing pieces, but I remain hopeful about what's ahead."
Ogura, a leading competitor in Moto2, has inked a two-year agreement to join forces with Raul Fernandez at Trackhouse Racing, stepping into Oliveira's former position.
Speculation suggests that Pramac plans to reveal its rider roster for the 2025 season during the upcoming home race in Misano, expected to take place next week.
