Miguel Oliveira Hints at Confirmed Seat with Pramac Yamaha for 2025 MotoGP Season: Official Announcement Imminent
Miguel Oliveira stated that he feels confident about his position with the Pramac Yamaha MotoGP team. The Portuguese racer recently shared an update regarding his future in MotoGP.
Miguel Oliveira has indicated that he can't provide many details about his MotoGP plans for 2025 at this time, but he has strongly suggested that he will join Pramac Yamaha.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Somkiat Chantra will join LCR and Fermin Aldeguer will sign with Gresini for 2025, leaving only the two Pramac Racing Yamaha positions unoccupied.
It has been common knowledge throughout most of August that Jack Miller and Oliveira will join Pramac, which will transition from using Ducati to Yamaha bikes next year.
In Austria, Oliveira verified that talks had taken place with Yamaha, and just before this weekend’s Aragon Grand Prix, he almost confirmed that the agreement is finalized.
When questioned by TNT Sport about his future prospects, the driver with five grand prix victories replied, “Unfortunately, there isn’t much I can share. We need to wait for an official statement.”
"I've mentioned over the last few weeks that we've been discussing the Pramac seat with Yamaha."
"Until we receive an official update on the matter, I need to be more cautious with my comments."
"I'd say the location is secure, and now we need to focus on the present and give our best efforts with the Trackhouse team."
Oliveira has been associated with Pramac for a significant amount of time, as the team seemed set to feature both a seasoned rider and a newcomer.
Nevertheless, since Yamaha urgently needs to make significant progress in 2024, Pramac will now feature a pair of seasoned riders.
Since starting his MotoGP career in 2019, Oliveira feels that he still has more to achieve.
"Well, I mean, I'm not old," he said.
"I’m 29 years old and I genuinely feel that I haven't yet achieved all I can. I truly think that way. There have been a few things lacking, but I'm hopeful for the future."
Ai Ogura, a leading competitor in Moto2, has signed a two-year contract and will be joining Raul Fernandez at the Trackhouse Racing team, taking the place of Oliveira.
Pramac is expected to reveal its 2025 rider roster next week during its home race at Misano.
