Mentorship on the Track: Marc Marquez Guides Moto3 Sensation David Alonso Towards Racing Excellence
Marc Marquez Mentors Rising Moto3 Talent?
MotoGP Star Provides Guidance to David Alonso
Marc Marquez has been sharing his insights with Moto3 standout David Alonso, as the two also spent last week training together on standard motorcycles.
Colombian rider Alonso has surged ahead as the clear frontrunner in the Moto3 rankings following 11 races of the 2024
Alonso, in his sophomore season of Moto3 and with seven victories under his belt, leads Ivan Ortola by 71 points as they approach the upcoming Aragon Grand Prix.
Alonso is poised to advance to Moto2 next season with his current team, Aspar, and has lately been receiving guidance from Marquez, who is an eight-time MotoGP world champion.

During a recent event at the Red Bull Ring, captured by DAZN, Marquez had a conversation with Alonso on how to handle the stress associated with racing after they posed for photographs together.
"Right now, I'm unsure about why, during the final lap…" Alonso started.
"Are you suggesting that I never get angry, or what?" Marquez responded. "Obviously, you do get angry, but that's to be expected. In fact, it's beneficial to feel that way."
"Alonso further mentioned, 'It's as if I wasn't out there celebrating.'"
Marquez remarked, "It's typical," he explained. "You keep it within, it's beneficial not to show it. Then, when you're at home, you're deeply troubled by it."
On the previous Thursday at Spain's Aspar track, Marquez and Alonso shared the track on commercial motorcycles, with Alonso seizing the chance to gain insights from the existing Gresini MotoGP competitor.
Alex Marquez, Ortola, Jaume Masia, and the rider from Red Bull Rookies Cup, Maximo Quiles, were present as well.
This weekend at the Aragon race, Alonso aims for his eighth victory of the year on his CFMoto bike.
Despite not competing at Aragon during his debut Moto3 season last year since it was not included in the schedule, Alonso secured a victory at the circuit during his initial Red Bull Rookies Cup season in 2020.
In 2020, while clinching the European Talent Cup championship, he secured two top-three finishes, and he repeated this achievement in 2021 as he was on his journey to winning the Rookies Cup championship.
