The last time the Dutch driver claimed victory in a Formula 1 race was during the sprint event in Austria back in June.
As Red Bull appears to have regained its competitive edge, Verstappen is likely to feel optimistic about his prospects with six races scheduled over the next eight weeks.
After winning the sprint race, he commented in the parc ferme that it wasn't too shabby and brought back memories of the past.
"I'm thrilled with how things went today. Observing the race as a whole, Ferrari showed impressive speed, but I believe we're finally back in the competition."
"Typically during the race, we tend to focus on the competitors trailing us, but now we can concentrate on our own performance. Our speed was impressive."
Max Verstappen has an impressive history in sprint races, securing victory 11 times in Formula 1.
Looking at the rest of the lineup, Valtteri Bottas is the only driver besides Verstappen to have won more than one sprint race, which underscores Verstappen's strong performance in these shorter events.
Despite Verstappen not favoring the format, he has undoubtedly gained the most since it was introduced in 2021.
Verstappen commented, "Weekends like this are always quite busy as we work to optimize the car's performance, but fortunately, in recent sprint events, the car has been well-tuned."
"We're feeling a little more pressure to perform, but fortunately, things are going in our favor."
