Max Verstappen Edges Out George Russell for U.S. Sprint Race Pole in Thrilling Qualifying Battle
Max Verstappen secured the top spot for the United States Grand Prix sprint race, narrowly beating George Russell.
Max Verstappen emerged as the fastest driver in sprint qualifying, narrowly securing pole position over George Russell by a mere 0.012 seconds.
The session at the Circuit of the Americas was intense, with only 0.2 seconds separating the fastest five drivers during the sprint qualifying round.

The Mercedes team sent their drivers onto the track first during SQ3, with Russell initially securing the top position.
Lewis Hamilton seemed set to surpass it following an impressive Sector 1 performance, but he faltered at Turn 12.
Following that moment, Russell's leading time remained unbeaten until Verstappen managed to surpass it.
The cyclist from the Netherlands is aiming to achieve another sprint win to his list of accomplishments this Saturday.
Following the qualifying session, Verstappen commented, "Today went well for us. Sprint qualifying is always challenging because it's hard to gauge the limits of how hard you can push."
"Throughout the entire day, the car performed excellently. I'm pleased to be in first place; it's been some time since I've achieved this, so I'm very satisfied with today's results."
"The driving experience on this track is incredible. It features a mix of fresh pavement, some older sections, and some bumps, making it challenging yet enjoyable."
Russell claimed the second spot, finishing in front of Charles Leclerc from Ferrari.
Lando Norris, who is in the running for the F1 championship, finished in fourth place, while Carlos Sainz ended up
Completing the top 10 were Nico Hulkenberg, Lewis Hamilton, Kevin Magnussen, Yuki Tsunoda, and Franco Colapinto.
Oscar Piastri was unexpectedly knocked out early in SQ1, resulting in a 16th place start for the sprint race.
Piastri was found to have gone beyond the track boundaries at the second-to-last corner, resulting in the removal of his fastest lap time.
He is set to begin the race in front of Esteban Ocon, Alex Albon, Valtteri Bottas, and Zhou Guanyu.
