Marquez Triumphs in MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix Amid Bagnaia Crash Drama
At the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, Marc Marquez showcased an impressive performance, leading from start to finish, while Pecco Bagnaia's race ended in a collision with Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix in MotoGP, Marc Marquez secured his first Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving the victory with a commanding performance.
Dominating from the start to the finish, Marquez showcased outstanding speed and ultimately secured victory, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin widened his lead in the championship to 23 points by securing second place, following Francesco Bagnaia's exit from the race due to a collision with Alex Marquez, who also went down in the incident.
Bagnaia was making progress through the pack, having once more struggled with a spinning rear tire from the less clean side of the starting grid. He found himself in seventh place at the outset, then moved into sixth position following Miguel Oliveira's fall, advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli went off track, and climbed to fourth after pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at turn 16.
After a few rounds of pursuit, Marques went off course at turn 12, opening up the opportunity for Bagnaia to overtake him as they approached turn 13. However, during the maneuver into turn 13, Bagnaia and Marquez collided, causing both to crash.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical facility, though there has been no further information released regarding his health status.
The collision between them elevated Pedro Acosta to the third position, though he was nearly 15 seconds adrift of the lead.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini climbed up to fifth place despite beginning from the 14th spot. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top ten.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales also withdrew from the race.
Following the race, probes were initiated into Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez regarding the pressure of their front tyres.
