Marquez Triumphs at Aragon MotoGP, Bagnaia Crashes Out in Dramatic Clash
At the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, Marc Marquez showcased an impressive performance, securing a victory from start to finish, while Pecco Bagnaia's race came to an early end due to a collision with Alex Marquez.
In a commanding display at the Aragon Grand Prix, Marc Marquez secured his first Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days.
Dominating from start to finish, Marquez showcased incredible speed and ultimately triumphed, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by finishing second, following Francesco Bagnaia's crash during an incident involving contact with Alex Marquez, who also fell due to the collision.
Bagnaia was making significant progress up the ranks, having again lost traction with his rear tyre from a less clean part of the starting grid. He found himself in seventh place at the outset, moved up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's fall, climbed to fifth as Franco Morbidelli veered off course, and reached fourth after inducing an error from Pedro Acosta at turn 16.
After several attempts to overtake Marques, who strayed off course at the twelfth turn, Bagnaia seized the opportunity to pass him as they approached the thirteenth turn. However, during this maneuver, Bagnaia and Marquez collided and both ended up crashing.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical facility, but there has been no information released regarding his current health status.
The collision between them advanced Pedro Acosta to third place, though he finished nearly 15 seconds after the victor.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini climbed to fifth place from a 14th-place start. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth, just in front of Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales withdrew from the race.
Investigations were initiated after the race concerning Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez due to issues with the pressure of their front tires.
