Marco Bezzecchi Eyes Strong Comeback with Favorite Tracks Ahead in 2024 MotoGP Season
Marco Bezzecchi: "Several of my preferred circuits are approaching"
Marco Bezzecchi: "A number of my favorite tracks on the schedule are coming up. I was very quick and competitive here last year."
Marco Bezzecchi entered the previous British MotoGP ranked third in the world standings, trailing Jorge Martin by a single point. Martin later competed with Francesco Bagnaia all the way to the season's conclusion.
As Bagnaia and Martin maintain their top spots in the rankings ahead of the 2024 Silverstone race, Bezzecchi finds himself in twelfth place, having difficulty matching his previous year’s performance after moving to the GP23.
The positive update is that Bezzecchi's impressive performances from last year are still remembered, earning him a factory contract with Aprilia for 2025. However, the Italian racer is not overlooking the 2024 season, as he looks forward to competing at some of his preferred circuits, such as Silverstone, where he previously crashed while contending with Bagnaia for the lead.
"The joy of returning to racing after the summer break never changes. I aimed to recharge, reset, and return with even greater motivation to tackle the second half of the season in the best way possible," stated the VR46 rider, who secured one podium finish in the first nine rounds.
"Some of my most preferred circuits are approaching. I performed exceptionally well here last year, maintaining high competitiveness all weekend, and I aim to experience the same feelings again."
"I'm excited to meet the English fans and see the unique livery for the race."
Colleague Fabio di Giannantonio, expected to extend his contract with VR46 for a factory-spec GP25 next season, has not yet secured a podium finish this year. However, his consistent top six placements have earned him the eighth spot in the world championship standings.
Diggia expressed his excitement for Friday morning, adding that he was also looking forward to the special livery reveal on Thursday, which would feature the 75th-anniversary colors that all teams would use on Sunday.
“Vacations are always enjoyable: we visited Bali for the first time representing Pertamina Enduro, and we received a truly warm reception, just like we did at WDW.
"We wrapped up the initial part of the season with a positive experience on the Ducati. From this point forward, our objective remains unchanged. Let's maintain our consistency and stay in the mix with the top competitors."
