Marc Marquez Triumphs in Aragon MotoGP Grand Prix Amid Drama as Bagnaia Crashes Out
In the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, Marc Marquez showcased a commanding performance, securing a victory from start to finish, while Pecco Bagnaia's race ended prematurely due to a collision with Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix for MotoGP, Marc Marquez secured his initial Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving this feat with a commanding performance.
Dominating from start to finish, Marquez showcased outstanding speed and ultimately secured victory, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by finishing second, while Francesco Bagnaia exited the race due to a crash involving Alex Marquez, who also went down during the incident.
Bagnaia was making significant progress through the pack, having initially lost traction on the unpaved portion of the starting grid. He found himself in seventh place at the outset, moved up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's fall, advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli veered off course, and then climbed to fourth after pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at turn 16.
During the race, there was a moment when Marques misjudged his line, veering off track at turn 12. This mistake provided Bagnaia with an opportunity to overtake him as they approached turn 13. However, as Bagnaia was maneuvering into turn 13, he collided with Marquez, causing both riders to crash.
Bagnaia was taken to the medical center following the race, but there has been no information released about his condition so far.
The incident between them elevated Pedro Acosta to third position, though he was nearly 15 seconds adrift of the leader.
Brad Binder secured the fourth spot, while Enea Bastianini climbed up to fifth despite beginning from the 14th position. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth place, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales withdrew from the race as well.
Following the race, probes were initiated into Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez concerning the pressure of their front tires.
