Marc Marquez Mentors Rising Moto3 Star David Alonso Ahead of Aragon GP
Marc Marquez mentoring rising Moto3 star?
MotoGP titleholder shares wisdom with David Alonso
Marc Marquez has been providing guidance to Moto3 sensation David Alonso. The two also practiced together on production motorcycles last week.
Colombian rider Alonso has taken a commanding lead in the Moto3 rankings following 11 races in the 2024 season.
With seven victories under his belt, Alonso, now in his second season in Moto3, leads by 71 points over Ivan Ortola as they approach this weekend's Aragon Grand Prix.
Alonso is preparing to advance to the Moto2 series next season with the Aspar team, the same team he races for now. Recently, he has been receiving guidance from Marquez, an eight-time MotoGP world champion.

According to DAZN, after a photo session at the Red Bull Ring last weekend, Marquez had a conversation with Alonso regarding managing the stress associated with racing.
"Right now, I'm not sure why, but during the final lap of the race…," Alonso started to say.
Marquez responded, "Do you think I never get angry? Of course, I do. It's natural and actually healthy to get upset sometimes."
Alonso commented that it felt as though he hadn't gone out to celebrate.
"It's typical," Marquez commented. "You keep it bottled up inside, and it's better not to show it. Then, when you're alone at home, you let it all out."
Last Thursday, Marquez and Alonso took to the Aspar circuit in Spain, riding street bikes together. Alonso seized the chance to gain insights from Marquez, who currently races for Gresini MotoGP.
The event was also attended by Alex Marquez, Ortola, Jaume Masia, and Red Bull Rookies Cup competitor Maximo Quiles.
This weekend in Aragon, Alonso will be aiming for his eighth victory of the season while riding his CFMoto bike.
Despite not competing at Aragon during his debut Moto3 season last year because it wasn't on the schedule, Alonso secured a victory at the circuit in his initial Red Bull Rookies Cup season in 2020.
In 2020, he secured two podium finishes and clinched the European Talent Cup title. The following year, in 2021, he continued his success by winning the Rookies Cup title.
