Marc Marquez: Aiming for a Comeback with Ducati in 2025 Amid Intense Rivalry with Pecco Bagnaia
Speculation suggests that Marc Marquez will dominate the competition next year. "His primary goal for this season was likely securing the factory bike," is what he might be focusing on.
It has been proposed that Marc Marquez might be focusing on 2025 already.
The Gresini racer has been selected to join the official Ducati factory team for the upcoming season. This significant move means he will transition from riding a year-old motorcycle to competing on the latest model.
Having the same equipment as the current factory standout, Pecco Bagnaia, Marquez has the potential to elevate their rivalry to unprecedented heights.
However, following 11 races this season, Marquez has yet to secure a victory in either a sprint or a grand prix event. He now trails the championship frontrunner Bagnaia by 83 points.
"Alex Lowes mentioned to TNT Sport in Austria the previous weekend that he devoted a lot of effort to diverting pressure and anticipation."
"Marc Marquez is in the spotlight! It seems his primary goal is to outperform his competitors, doesn't it? This mindset was evident right from the season's beginning.
"I sense that his drive is due to the errors he's committing during practice."
He likely set his primary goal for the year to secure the factory bike.
"Now he's going to take care of himself, show up next year, and outperform everyone!"
"It wouldn't shock you. That's just the kind of person and skill set he has."
Nevertheless, Marquez has been cautioned that donning red in 2025 and mounting Ducati's newest motorcycle does not assure a win.
He is set to team up with Bagnaia, who is on an impressive streak, securing victories in both events last weekend at the Red Bull Ring.
"Pecco's acceleration in performance is remarkable… he's already a double world champion and stands on the cusp of becoming a triple champion as next year begins, truly in the zenith of his career," Neil Hodgson remarked.
Marc is set to directly compete against him within the same team. It's recognized that Marc isn't at the peak of his performance.
"The outcome may not be as predetermined as many of us have believed…"
Lowes remarked, "Pecco is unstoppable. Even after an error, he quickly recovers and makes his way to the lead."
"If Marc continues to commit avoidable mistakes – in Germany, at Silverstone – he shouldn't afford to hand over advantages to Pecco. Surely, Valentino will take every opportunity to capitalize on Pecco!"
Hodgson highlighted a pivotal instance demonstrating Bagnaia's fighting spirit throughout the season.
"He mentioned that Pecco had an accident during the final lap of the Barcelona sprint."
The following day, he moved to the front at the exact turn where he had previously had an accident.
"The psychological resilience required for such an endeavor, coupled with unwavering faith in oneself and confidence, is truly remarkable. It symbolizes the hallmark of a genuine victor."
MotoGP is set to resume the following weekend at Aragon, where Marquez will once more vie for his first victory riding a Ducati.
