Joan Mir Energized by New Honda Deal Ahead of British Grand Prix Showdown
Joan Mir describes his latest MotoGP agreement with Honda as "another boost" as he approaches the upcoming British race.
Last week, Joan Mir ensured his continuation in MotoGP by inking a fresh two-year agreement with Repsol Honda, the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer.
Ahead of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, Mir acknowledged that the recent contract renewal serves as an uplift during a challenging second season with Honda.
Mir mentioned, "We've enjoyed a nice break that allowed us some rest and ample opportunity to train and get ready for the season's second half.
I'm delighted to have my continued association with HRC secured, providing further motivation as we embark on the critical final stretch of the season.
This year's Silverstone is set to be spectacular, especially with the unique liveries on display. I must admit, our motorcycle might just be the most stunning MotoGP bike I've ever laid eyes on!
"However, the true significance lies in the advancements we achieve; our concentration and goals continue to be consistent as they have always been."
Mir's recent contract positions him in front of his team-mate Luca Marini and LCR's Johann Zarco, who have agreements lasting until the conclusion of 2025.
Marini has recently seen consistent progress and is keen on maintaining that momentum at Silverstone.
Marini expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with the team at Silverstone, eager to discover the progress made during the hiatus and to learn about the strategies for the forthcoming races.
Silverstone presents a multifaceted circuit, distinguished by its extensive length and varied segments – an effective means for evaluating our capabilities.
"The 75th anniversary is going to be memorable, and I'm truly looking forward to donning the unique colors we've created. I'm hopeful that we can deliver a strong performance and enhance our pre-summer race results."
