Jack Miller Set to Revitalize Yamaha: Balancing Laughter with Laser-Focused Feedback
Jack Miller "pretends to be silly and jokes around," but he will be "ideal" for Yamaha.
Jack Miller praised for the excellence of his feedback to engineers and his positive demeanor.
Jack Miller is seen as an ideal addition to Yamaha's development team, even considering his light-hearted personality.
The well-known Australian rider seems to have revived his MotoGP career by securing a move to Yamaha's new Pramac satellite team for the 2025 season. This development comes only weeks after he acknowledged that his time in the top-tier racing class was coming to an end.
It has been asserted that Miller will meet Yamaha's need to return to the top of MotoGP.
Neil Hodgson mentioned to TNT Sports that the rumors about Pramac appear to have some substance.
"We've inquired with knowledgeable individuals, and not a single one has stated that it won't occur."
"At the outset, we were informed that they were seeking individuals with experience."
"It then shifted to a seasoned rider, such as Miguel Oliveira, and an aggressive competitor like Alonso Lopez, Sergio Garcia, or Ai Ogura."
"The best course of action for Yamaha, and for all involved parties, is to have seasoned riders on the motorcycle."
"Though Jack often jokes around and acts silly, his input is excellent, he works diligently, and he motivates the team well. He would be an invaluable addition."
Alex Lowes commented on Pramac’s decision to change manufacturers next year, noting, “It’s a significant shift for them. They were the leading satellite team for Ducati.”
"Given that all conditions are the same, Ducati would be preferred over Yamaha."
"It's an initiative aimed at establishing a Moto2 team down the line to nurture and develop young riders."
"They're adopting a new approach with the team. Currently, Pramac's main challenge is the bike's performance, so having seasoned riders is beneficial."
Hodgson responded, “You would never dismount a Ducati. However, it wasn’t too long ago…”
Lowes stated that Yamaha has a history of winning everything and believes they will make a comeback. He emphasized that the situation is constantly evolving and never remains the same.
Hodgson cautioned that he does not expect Yamaha to be competitive for victories next year, but believes they might be in a better position to win the year after, based on what they learn in the meantime.
Lowes remarked that an increase in the number of bikes on the track is beneficial. It allows for more data collection and encourages competition among riders. He mentioned that Cal Crutchlow and Alex Rins both faced injuries, while Fabio Quartararo has been making efforts to manage things independently.
Although KTM rider Miller has acknowledged engaging in discussions with an undisclosed MotoGP team, his transfer to Pramac Yamaha has not yet been officially announced.
KTM decided to remove Miller from their lineup to make room for Pedro Acosta, who they plan to move up from their Tech3 satellite team to the main factory team in 2025.
KTM took Miller by surprise by deciding not to give him the Tech3 seat, and instead, they announced a fresh pairing of Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales.
It seemed for a moment that Miller wouldn't get any chances, despite being associated with a Ducati World Superbikes position.
However, following his acknowledgment that he could be out of the competition next year, Miller is now said to be nearing a deal with Pramac Yamaha.
