Jack Miller Faces Uncertain MotoGP Future: Open to 2025 but Ready for Life Beyond Racing
Jack Miller: "My desire is to remain in MotoGP through 2025; however, should my journey end, so be it…"
"Surpassing my wildest dreams with what I've accomplished, I still find myself yearning for more."
Jack Miller has candidly discussed the genuine chance that he might not retain his position in MotoGP for the coming year.
In 2025, KTM's factory team will see Pedro Acosta stepping in to take over from Miller, thanks to his exceptional talent.
Initially, he anticipated a trade and a transfer to the Tech3 team until a phone call, just hours before it was officially announced, informed him that Enea Bastianini and Maverick Vinales had been secured for the team.
Miller's prospects are hanging in the balance, with limited choices left to consider.
When questioned about his aspirations to continue competing in MotoGP until 2025, Miller expressed to Motosan, "Absolutely, that's my intention. I'm keen on staying."
"I cannot envision being anywhere other than this place. I believe that I continue to improve with each passing day.
"Additionally, I'm merely 29 years of age. The issue lies in the fact that I entered MotoGP at the tender age of 19. Hence, individuals recall my earlier days, yet I'm aging."
Next year, Johann Zarco is set to become the senior-most rider in MotoGP at the age of 35, while Marc Marquez will be 32.
Miller emphasizes his youthfulness, stating, "Precisely. However, I sense an overall enhancement in my mental and physical strength. Hence, my desire to stay."
"Am I going to be upset if my career came to a halt tomorrow? Absolutely not."
"Despite surpassing my wildest dreams in accomplishments, I continue to yearn for greater achievements."
"I'm aiming for additional podium finishes, victories, and overall, more competitive races before I retire."
Miller emphasized that should his time in MotoGP conclude in the near future, he would hold no bitterness.
"He expressed no concern whatsoever, stating, 'I consider myself extremely fortunate.'"
Ruby and I reside in a lovely home in Australia. We possess our own vehicles. Everything is taken care of.
"I refuse to spend my life idly sitting at home, doing absolutely nothing."
"Indeed, we embark on a remarkable journey at the outset, especially when considering an ordinary individual transitioning from school to embarking on their career or any other path."
"We're truly fortunate, incredibly blessed, and I've been engaged in this for a decade now, feeling immensely joyful."
Each morning when I open my eyes, I contemplate that if I ceased my activities the next day, the experiences I've formed and the influence I've managed to exert on the sport far exceed anything I could have dreamed of.
"Thus, it's fair to state that what I've accomplished leaves me feeling discontented."
"I am content, yet I believe there's still more I can offer."
"If it's indeed the end, then it's the end; I have no intention of clinging to what seems like a fading fantasy. I refuse to be that person."
Last season, Brad Binder surpassed his teammate Miller in performance during Miller's inaugural year on a KTM.
This year kicked off with an impressive P5 finish in Portimao, a performance that has not been matched since, as Acosta's standout displays have intensified the competition among the other KTM riders.
Open positions for the 2025 season feature Gresini Ducati and VR46 Ducati, yet Miller is not considered a likely candidate for any of these squads.
LCR and Repsol Honda have yet to sign a new rider, but it's expected that they will continue with their current roster.
Yamaha's official team intends to renew their contract with Alex Rins, as they have previously suggested.
This narrows down the potential choices for Miller to either Trackhouse Aprilia or Pramac Yamaha.
