Jack Miller Debunks KTM Performance Myths Amid Challenging 2024 MotoGP Season
Jack Miller claims the perception that KTM is falling behind is misleading
Jack Miller states, "This perception is misleading, considering KTM's most recent win was in a wet race with Miguel."
Jack Miller has experienced a disastrous 2024 MotoGP season, securing just one top-five placement throughout the year.
KTM has faced challenges in keeping up with Aprilia and, especially, Ducati, who have established a new standard this year.
Due to his challenging performance streak, Miller has parted ways with KTM, yet the Australian feels that to a certain extent, his potential was restricted.
In an interview with Motosan.es, when questioned if the RC16 was the maximum he could handle, Miller responded, “Absolutely, I believe that’s the case for everyone. It’s all about how you adjust and construct the bike, and as evidenced by a few instances this year, I’ve had crashes when I was among the pack and attempting to keep up with the rest.
"It's not a matter of being slow; rather, it's about feeling uneasy and constantly striving to extend my boundaries."
"Indeed, it has come with a high price on multiple instances, but it's also the reason I've managed to achieve my current status."
KTM has not secured a grand prix win since 2022, despite Brad Binder achieving success in sprint races during this period. However, the Austrian manufacturer has not met its goal of vying for the championship title.
However, Miller is of the opinion that KTM remains a contender, stating that it's misleading to think they have fallen behind in the forefront of MotoGP.
"Miller mentioned, 'It's merely a mirage since KTM's most recent win occurred during a rainy race with Miguel at the helm.'"
I believe KTM's recent victories both occurred under rainy conditions. Therefore, I'm not convinced.
"Considering Brad's performance in the previous season, it's clear that he achieved the highest number of podium finishes in dry conditions, marking the peak of his competitive edge throughout his Grand Prix career."
