Isle of Man TT champions suggest a MotoGP racer capable of conquering the Mountain Course
Who among the MotoGP riders would excel at the Isle of Man TT?
Veterans of the Isle of Man TT have discussed which MotoGP competitor would perform best on the Mountain Course.
A recent Monster Energy event at Silverstone featured top riders from road racing, MotoGP, and World Superbikes.
Regardless of their varying fields, the topic of intersecting areas eventually emerged.
When John McGuinness was questioned about which MotoGP competitor might excel at the TT, he told TNT Sports, "Certainly not Marquez!"
However, according to Peter Hickman, Marc Marquez has the right mindset for it.
“He would give it a try. He wouldn’t overthink it, he’d just get on with it.”
McGuinness commented, "In my opinion, a rider with Vinales' calm and strategic approach would be ideal for the TT."
"But their schedule is so packed that they wouldn't have the time to do it. I'm confident they have the capability."
"If they were truly determined, any MotoGP rider could hold their own at the TT."
Hickman responded: "Absolutely. If you're capable of riding a bike, you can do it anywhere."
Marquez has mentioned before regarding the TT: "While I deeply respect the racers who compete there, it's not something I personally enjoy."
"I enjoy having a good time and pushing the boundaries while riding. For me, going to the Isle of Man is like putting your life on the line."

Pecco Bagnaia leads Jorge Martin by 10 points in the standings as they head into the Silverstone event next week.
Hickman forecasted that Pecco would come out on top, describing him as methodical and consistently accurate. He believes Pecco has what it takes to outperform everyone else.
Michael Dunlop commented, "For Martin, this year is crucial… he isn't obligated to go through with it, but if he doesn't, he'll have invested too much time already."
“I’ll team up with Martin. Pecco is amazing too. Things are going to get intense…”
