George Russell is set to begin the F1 United States Grand Prix on Sunday from the pitlane.
The Mercedes racer was scheduled to begin the race from the sixth position on the grid.

During Saturday's qualifying session, he damaged his Mercedes car, which resulted in the destruction of the upgraded components. Consequently, he will have to rely on the older version for the grand prix race.
Mercedes made repairs to his car overnight, violating F1 regulations, which leads to a start from the pit lane.
Mercedes introduced a new floor design at the United States Grand Prix in Texas. However, they do not have extra components available, which means they cannot fix the damage caused by Russell's crash on Saturday.
For Sunday's race, Russell will switch back to using the W15 specification that was utilized in Singapore and prior events.
Lewis Hamilton, his teammate, faced a challenging qualifying round and was initially set to begin the race from the 18th position. However, his starting position has improved to 17th following Russell's decision to start from the pitlane.
Hamilton proposed exchanging his enhanced components to assist Russell, who is in a significantly superior starting position. However, Mercedes decided not to proceed with that option.
Liam Lawson from RB will start from the rear of the grid because of a penalty related to his engine.
Significantly, Pierre Gasly will benefit by advancing from seventh to sixth place, while Fernando Alonso will climb to seventh, due to Russell starting from the pitlane.
