Franco Morbidelli’s Dream Realized: Racing Under Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Banner in 2025
Franco Morbidelli's excitement about racing under the guidance of Valentino Rossi
"I spent nearly my entire career with him — observing him, learning from him, being inspired by him, and admiring his skills."
Following just a single season with the Pramac team, Franco Morbidelli is set to join the VR46 squad for the 2025 MotoGP season.
Franco Morbidelli, who was one of the first to join the VR46 Riders Academy, is nearing the end of his journey by 2025. He has spent much of his racing career being mentored and guided by Valentino Rossi.
"It's extremely meaningful to me," Morbidelli expressed to MotoGP.com during the Austrian Grand Prix.
"I've known about this for a while since we've talked about it extensively, but it's fantastic to finally share it with everyone and make the announcement publicly."
"It's an incredible story. I've known Valentino Rossi since I was a child, and I've essentially spent my entire career alongside him — observing him, learning from him, and being constantly inspired by his achievements and his approach. To this day, he continues to amaze me."
"It's crucial to me, and one of my biggest dreams, to compete with his team and everyone involved. I want to achieve great results to repay them for everything they have given me throughout my life."
Morbidelli, who will continue riding the Ducati GP24 next season, revealed that being part of the team has been a dream of his since he was a child.
“I never considered it, but if you were to inform young Franco, at six or seven years old, he would definitely be overwhelmed with panic.”
