Franco Morbidelli Embraces Childhood Dream with Move to Valentino Rossi’s VR46 Team for 2025 MotoGP Season

Franco Morbidelli expressed deep emotion over getting the chance to race while being mentored by Valentino Rossi. "Essentially, throughout my entire career, I've been shadowing him, observing him, attempting to absorb his lessons, and always being in awe of him."

Following a single season at Pramac, Franco Morbidelli is set to join the VR46 team for the MotoGP season of 2025.

Morbidelli, a founding member of the VR46 Riders Academy, is nearing a return to his roots in 2025, having developed his racing career significantly through the mentorship and direction of Valentino Rossi.

"This holds great significance for me," Morbidelli expressed to MotoGP.com during the Austrian Grand Prix.

"This isn't a surprise to me as it's been a topic of conversation for quite a while, but I'm delighted and truly honored to finally share and declare it to everyone."

"It's an incredible tale. I've known Vale [Valentino Rossi] since I was a young boy, and essentially, my entire career has been spent admiring him — observing him, learning from him, and being in awe of his actions and how he carries them out. I continue to be astonished by him."

"Participating in races with his team and colleagues holds significant importance to me. I deeply desire to achieve strong outcomes as a way to reciprocate the support and opportunities they've provided me throughout my life."

Morbidelli has confessed that being part of the team, continuing with Ducati GP24 equipment into the next season, was a dream he harbored since his youth.

"I hadn't considered it, but if you were to share this with young Franco, who's around six or seven, he'd definitely be overcome with panic."
