Fabio di Giannantonio Sidelined from Austrian MotoGP After Severe Crash Leads to Dislocated Shoulder
Austria MotoGP Update: Fabio di Giannantonio Withdraws Due to Shoulder Injury
DETAILS: Following a crash on Friday afternoon at the Red Bull Ring, Fabio di Giannantonio has been ruled out of the Austrian MotoGP with a dislocated shoulder.
Fabio di Giannantonio will miss the rest of the Austrian MotoGP weekend due to a dislocated left shoulder, which was the result of his crash on Friday afternoon at the Red Bull Ring.
The Italian rider lost balance when his GP23 motorcycle wobbled on a curb as he was shifting from a left to right maneuver at the high-speed Turn 8 bend.
Following his loss of control at the front, Diggia tumbled forcefully into the gravel pit.
The 25-year-old, who has just been officially announced as a VR46 rider with factory support for the upcoming two seasons, is scheduled for an additional examination at the Judenberg hospital.
After undergoing those evaluations, di Giannantonio was formally ruled out from proceeding. He has until the month's end to recuperate in time for the Aragon race.
Fellow team member Marco Bezzecchi experienced a fall on Friday afternoon as well but emerged without injuries and secured his spot directly in Qualifying 2, finishing ninth.
