Fabio di Giannantonio Ruled Out of Austrian MotoGP After Dislocating Shoulder in Red Bull Ring Crash
MotoGP Austria: Fabio di Giannantonio Suffers Shoulder Dislocation
UPDATE: Fabio di Giannantonio will miss the Austrian MotoGP following an accident on Friday afternoon at the Red Bull Ring.
Fabio di Giannantonio will not participate in the rest of the Austrian MotoGP weekend because he suffered a dislocated left shoulder in an accident on Friday afternoon at the Red Bull Ring.
The Italian rider lost control of his GP23 bike when it became unstable on a kerb while switching from a left to a right turn at the high-speed Turn 8 bend.
Following a front-end loss, Diggia tumbled forcefully through the gravel trap.
The 25-year-old, who was recently confirmed as a factory-supported VR46 rider for the upcoming two seasons, will now have an additional medical examination at Judenberg hospital.
After undergoing evaluations, di Giannantonio was formally deemed unable to proceed. He now has until the end of the month to recuperate before the Aragon event.
Marco Bezzecchi, a teammate, also experienced a fall on Friday afternoon but emerged without injuries and secured a spot in Qualifying 2 by finishing in ninth place.
