Fabio Di Giannantonio reflects on the intense competition at WDW: "I aimed to put on a great performance…"
Fabio Di Giannantonio mentions that he "aimed to put on a great performance", suggesting that some competitors may have been overly aggressive.
Fabio Di Giannantonio took part in his second World Ducati Week event last weekend and has now made his way to Silverstone for the British MotoGP, which starts tomorrow.
Di Giannantonio secured a fifth-place finish, trailing behind Francesco Bagnaia, Andrea Iannone, Marc Marquez, and his MotoGP team-mate Marco Bezzecchi.
An occasion that unites every Ducati enthusiast, Di Giannantonio described the experience as: "11 out of 10! Truly, it was incredible."
"This was my second experience at World Ducati Week, but it felt unique this time because I'm doing well with Ducati. As a result, many fans gathered in front of my garage to support me."
"The WDW was particularly warm for me this year. The event was very well organized. We unveiled the new Panigale, which is incredible. I'm very fond of it."
During the race, an incident occurred when Marc Marquez collided with Nicolo Bulega while they were fighting for third place. This collision caused the WorldSBK rider to crash into the gravel at the last corner.
Eager to emphasize that his visit was intended only to entertain the fans rather than to compete seriously, Di Giannantonio explained: "The aim is to put on a great show, but it's crucial to keep the MotoGP championship in mind, as it holds greater significance.
"I attended to deliver an excellent performance. As for the others, I can't speak to their intentions."
"My goal was simply to maintain the enthusiasm of the audience in the stands."
Looking ahead to this weekend, Di Giannantonio is optimistic about having another successful outing at a track he particularly enjoys.
"I really enjoy this circuit," the Italian stated. "It's among my top picks on the schedule."
In June, we conducted some light training with the Panigale and had a great time. I'm looking forward to performing well and enjoying the races.
