Fabio Di Giannantonio Poised for Aragon MotoGP Return at 60-70% After Shoulder Injury
Fabio Di Giannantonio "60-70% Recovered" Before Aragon MotoGP
After suffering a dislocated shoulder during the Austrian GP, Fabio Di Giannantonio is still not at full strength as he prepares for the upcoming Aragon MotoGP this weekend.
Fabio Di Giannantonio is heading into this weekend's Aragon MotoGP while still recuperating from a dislocated shoulder injury he sustained during practice at the Austrian Grand Prix two weeks prior.
For the first time since he entered the Grand Prix scene in 2016, Di Giannantonio was not present at the starting grid in Austria. This weekend, as he makes his comeback, the VR46 Ducati racer will still be contending with some physical challenges.
"I'm doing alright, I guess," Di Giannantonio mentioned to MotoGP.com before the Aragon Grand Prix. "My shoulder is still somewhat painful, particularly at night and with certain movements. I definitely don't have complete mobility in it yet."
"However, I put in my utmost effort while at home. Honestly, I worked tirelessly around the clock, each and every day, to prepare myself as much as I could for this round."
"I genuinely feel prepared to compete. Physically, I might be at around 60-70 percent, but we'll find out soon. If I'm able to ride without any pain, I believe we can perform well and pick up right where we left off."
Di Giannantonio will receive support from physiotherapists and medical personnel at the track for his injury, but he won't fully understand the challenges he'll face until he gets on the bike this weekend.
He mentioned that the team's physiotherapist is assisting with both injury recovery and maintaining physical fitness over the weekend.
"We need to identify the source of pain, assess the mobility issues, and evaluate all aspects of the bicycle."
"There aren't any assessments other than actually riding the bike. Therefore, we'll need to be patient to see the results, but I believe we can handle it."
