Misbehavior by fans in Texas leads to substantial penalty for event promoter
Promoters of the F1 United States Grand Prix have been penalized with a fine following a breach of security when fans entered the track.
They have faced a financial penalty amounting to $500,000, but $350,000 of that amount is on hold.

At the end of Sunday's grand prix in Texas, which was claimed by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc, fans made their way onto the race track.
Spectators were present on the main straight as a few vehicles were completing their cooldown laps.
Around 200 supporters allegedly scaled a fence, descended about two meters, and then leaped over a barrier.
Intrusions by fans onto the track constitute a significant violation of FIA safety rules.

The circuit is required to submit a proposal to the FIA outlining strategies to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
During last year's Australian Grand Prix, there was an incident where fans entered restricted areas, leading to the event organizers receiving a fine.
Last year in Brazil, spectators also made their way onto the race track.
