Exclusive: Ai Ogura Breaks Silence on Trackhouse Racing MotoGP Rumors for 2025 at Silverstone
BREAKING: Ai Ogura Addresses Speculation of Joining Trackhouse Racing
In a conversation at Silverstone with Crash.net, the rider from Japan addressed the speculation about him securing a MotoGP seat by 2025.
Ai Ogura has addressed the speculation about his potential promotion to the MotoGP category in 2025, associated with Trackhouse Racing.
In an exclusive interview with Crash.net during the British Grand Prix, the rider from Japan was reserved about his future prospects. However, when questioned regarding his plans for the upcoming season, he responded:
"At this moment, all I can ask is for your patience until the official statement is made. There's nothing more I can share at this time."
When questioned about his choices for the upcoming season, the Moto2 competitor disclosed that should he advance to MotoGP, he possesses multiple alternatives.
"Actually, if I advance to MotoGP, I'm looking at a couple of choices," Ogura said, smiling as he replied.
This strongly suggests that the speculated possibilities include joining Trackhouse Racing and securing the Idemitsu position at LCR Honda.
An agreement in principle has been reached between Ogura and the American team Trackhouse, although the deal has not been officially finalized, according to a report from Motorsport.com.
Since the beginning of his Grand Prix career, he has been a member of the Honda family. However, he chose to exit the Honda Team Asia at the conclusion of the previous season, though he continues to receive backing from Honda.
Ogura is currently in second place in the Moto2 World Championship, trailing his teammate from MT Helmets MSI, Sergio Garcia, by seven points.
