EXCLUSIVE: Ai Ogura Breaks Silence on MotoGP Move Rumours with Trackhouse Racing
EXCLUSIVE: Ai Ogura addresses Trackhouse Racing speculation
During an interview with Crash.net at Silverstone, the Japanese racer commented on the rumors suggesting he might secure a MotoGP spot in 2025.
Ai Ogura has addressed the speculation about potentially advancing to the MotoGP class with Trackhouse Racing in 2025.
In an exclusive interview with Crash.net during the British Grand Prix, the Japanese rider was reserved about his future. However, when questioned about his intentions for the upcoming season, he responded:
"All I can share at this moment is to stay tuned for the official announcement. I don't have any additional information to provide right now."
When asked about his plans for the next season, the Moto2 rider shared that he has multiple opportunities if he decides to advance to MotoGP.
"Well, if I move up to MotoGP, I have two choices," Ogura said with a smile.
This strongly suggests that the choices are likely the speculated transition to Trackhouse Racing and the Idemitsu position at LCR Honda.
Although a final agreement has not been reached for his move to Trackhouse, Motorsport.com reports that Ogura has verbally agreed to join the American team.
Since the beginning of his Grand Prix career, he has been associated with the Honda family. However, at the conclusion of last season, he chose to depart from the Honda Team Asia group, although he continues to receive support from Honda.
Currently, Ogura holds the second position in the Moto2 World Championship standings, trailing his MT Helmets MSI teammate Sergio Garcia by seven points.
