**Enea Bastianini Ready to Challenge Dominant Bagnaia at Aragon MotoGP**
Aragon MotoGP champion Enea Bastianini expresses his confidence and readiness to compete for another win. Enea Bastianini stated, "In general, I feel assured and prepared to battle for the victory."
During the most recent MotoGP event at Aragon in 2022, Enea Bastianini narrowly claimed victory over Francesco Bagnaia, winning by a slim margin of 0.042 seconds following an exciting duel on the final lap.
Bastianini, who had been racing on a bike that was a year old for the Gresini team, is set to rejoin the factory Ducati team this weekend, partnering with Bagnaia.
Having secured three Grand Prix podium finishes, including one victory, in the last four races, The Beast is currently experiencing the peak performance of his MotoGP career.
However, Bastianini is still trailing the current champion Bagnaia by 61 points and is 55 points behind Jorge Martin. To turn the competition into a three-way battle for the title, he needs to replicate the strong performance he showed at Silverstone.
"I'm happy to return to racing at Aragon. I've always performed well on this track, and it's one of my favorites," Bastianini commented.
"In contrast to our previous race here in 2022, this year's track will feature new asphalt. We'll see how it affects the race, but generally, I'm feeling confident and prepared to compete for the win."
The issue for Bastianini is that Bagnaia is performing at his peak, having secured victories in six out of the last eight Grand Prix races and achieving third place in the remaining two.
Bagnaia's recent win in Austria matched his previous record of seven Grand Prix victories in a single season from 2023, with nine races remaining in the season.
The most recent rider to achieve at least eight victories in one season was Marc Marquez, who secured 12 wins in 2019.
However, Bagnaia has struggled more in Sprint races this season, which is the primary reason that Pramac rider Martin is trailing by just five points.
In 2021 at Aragon, Bagnaia secured his first MotoGP victory by holding off Marquez in a tough race, but the next year, he experienced a close loss to Bastianini.
Bagnaia expressed his pride in the recent race performances but emphasized that the season is far from over and it's important to stay grounded.
"I enjoy racing at Aragon and I'm excited to be back. MotorLand is special to me because it's where I secured my first MotoGP victory, and I've consistently performed well in recent races there."
"Regardless of the situation, we need to maintain our focus and keep working, following the same path we've taken in the recent Grands Prix."
By securing his 25th MotoGP win in Austria, Bagnaia has matched Kevin Schwantz's record, putting him in 10th place on the list of all-time premier class victories.
