**Enea Bastianini Overcomes Early Bike Issue to Secure Fourth Best Time in British MotoGP Practice**
Enea Bastianini: “I noticed the alert on my dashboard and had to shut down the bike!”
Following a challenging beginning in the afternoon session, Enea Bastianini felt reasonably optimistic after securing the fourth fastest lap time during Friday's practice for the British MotoGP.
Much like Marco Bezzecchi, who seemed to experience engine trouble with his GP23, the official Ducati rider had his afternoon practice session interrupted right at the beginning. However, he emphasized that he didn't lose significant time and could still follow his usual practice routine despite the problem.
While speaking to the press, including Crash.net, at Silverstone, he expressed his delight at returning to MotoGP: “It’s always great to be riding again in MotoGP. This afternoon, I’m not sure what went wrong with my primary bike. However, I didn’t lose much time, and I was still able to get the usual work done.”
Bastianini emphasized the need to test the hard front tire during a time attack on the following day, prior to the qualifying session. He remarked, "The time attack wasn't too bad, but we need to make some improvements for tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to test the hard front tire today, so it's crucial to try it out, especially if the conditions remain similar to today."
The Italian rider confessed that he is currently unaware of how his performance metrics stack up against those of his teammate, Pecco Bagnaia. He mentioned, "I haven't looked at the data and sector times yet, so I need to analyze them."
Earlier today, I observed just one sector, with the most crucial being the third one,” Bastianini mentioned. “However, following the second session, my performance improved significantly, and I now hold the second-fastest time in that sector.”
"I believe I can improve significantly in the first sector. My speed between the end of the third and fourth corners isn't great, which is mainly due to the gearing. However, I'm pleased with both my speed and the performance of the bike."
When questioned about the problem with his bike, Bastianini responded that he was uncertain about the cause since the team was still looking into it. "No, I don’t have any information," he confessed.
“The motorcycle suddenly shut down, and a warning appeared on the dashboard instructing me to stop, so I had to turn it off!”
