End of an Era: Daniel Ricciardo Set for Final F1 Race Amid Red Bull Exit Speculation
Could this be Daniel Ricciardo’s final Formula 1 race? “It’s unfortunate he can’t end on a positive note”
Daniel Ricciardo is anticipated to lose his Red Bull seat following today's race.
Daniel Ricciardo is anticipated to compete in his last Formula 1 race at the Singapore Grand Prix today.
According to reports, an experienced Formula 1 driver from the RB team is set to be substituted by Liam Lawson for the upcoming race in the United States.
This signifies that a 13-year career, which includes eight grand prix victories, is about to conclude within a few hours.
Sky Sports' Simon Lazenby suggested that the individual's behavior indicates an awareness of the impending situation.
Sports commentator David Croft responded, "I believe he does. I suspect private discussions have already taken place. We should have more information by the middle of next week."
"It's unfortunate. He will remain among the drivers they can choose from for next year. However, it's disappointing that if this is his last race in Abu Dhabi, he won't be able to finish on a high note."
"He has contributed immensely to the sport with numerous outstanding performances."
"I recall seeing a replay of his initial victory in Canada. He was smiling broadly while I felt emotional and teary-eyed."
"He’s provided us with unforgettable experiences and he’s an excellent driver."
"In the end, he really shouldn't have parted ways with Red Bull from the beginning."
Ricciardo's choice to leave Red Bull for Renault did not yield the desired results. Subsequently, he joined McLaren, but they terminated his contract at the conclusion of 2022.
Ricciardo returned to racing in mid-2023, but it seems he may be nearing the end of his F1 career a year later.
Jamie Chadwick evaluated the situation and noted that he acknowledged his previous efforts, although once sufficient, were no longer meeting the required standards.
"The expectations from Red Bull have significantly increased, and he is currently not meeting those high standards."
Martin Brundle from Sky Sports disclosed that he received information from sources in the paddock indicating that Red Bull plans to switch drivers for their sister team ahead of the upcoming F1 race in Austin.
Ricciardo confessed that he was unsure about his future upon his arrival in Singapore.
When questioned about being left out, he responded: "I'd probably say no, but we understand how the sport operates. Therefore, I wouldn't be willing to bet everything on it. I've been involved for a long time."
"What’s wild about this sport is that if I manage to secure a podium finish this weekend, I’ll likely become the most talked-about athlete in the field.”
