According to The Times, he is interested in buying the financially struggling rugby team, London Irish.
Jordan’s ambitions reach beyond being involved with only one rugby team.
According to the same report, he is a member of a group aiming to acquire the French rugby team AS Béziers Hérault.
According to The Times, Strangford Capital, a private equity company based in Northern Ireland, is providing financial support for these projects. Jordan is involved both as an investor and as an advisor with the firm.
Reports suggest that Jordan is aiming to establish a network of rugby teams that would operate under a unified ownership structure, akin to the model used by Manchester City with its affiliated soccer clubs globally.
Jordan has taken an audacious and daring step.
He accumulated his fortune by working as a business owner in the Formula 1 environment.
In 1991, he established the Jordan Grand Prix team, which was responsible for giving Michael Schumacher his first opportunity in Formula 1. Notable drivers such as Damon Hill and Ralf Schumacher also raced for the Jordan team.
