Ducati Shares Their Thoughts on the Lenovo Race of Champions
Ducati has attributed their victory in the Lenovo Race of Champions to their standout rider, Francesco Bagnaia.
Bagnaia surpassed the pole position holder Andrea Iannone in the opening lap and, following an intense battle, managed to stay ahead of his competitor to secure victory in the 10-lap Misano race on Saturday.
Outcomes from the 2024 Ducati Racing Championship
At the World Ducati Week, the race was marked by an incident involving Nicolo Bulega and Marc Marquez. Bulega crashed at the final turn, allowing Marquez to secure a spot on the podium.
Ducati has verified that Marquez and Bulega "collided".
Ultimately, the Italian manufacturer's star athlete clinched victory in the Lenovo Race of Champions.
Claudio Domenicali, the Chief Executive Officer of Ducati, stated, "The Lenovo Race of Champions offers a fantastic show for motorcycle enthusiasts everywhere."
"For me, participating in the race was truly enjoyable, and the sight of the sea of red from the World Ducati Week fans filling the stands at the Misano Circuit was an incredibly moving experience."
Kudos to Pecco for once more demonstrating his remarkable skills to the globe by clinching victory in a prestigious race, and hats off as well to Andrea and Marc for their podium finishes.
"It would have been great to have Nicolo join us on the podium for the celebrations, but understandably, his health checks took precedence following the accident."
"The Lenovo Race of Champions alongside WDW2024 provided an ideal backdrop to showcase the benefits of the latest Panigale V4, and the enhanced performance since the 2022 race underscores the pride we take in the advancements made on this motorcycle."
Bagnaia also mentioned, "To begin with, I must express how incredible it was to witness the grandstands filled with such a large crowd."
"Despite wearing the helmet during the race, I could still make out the sounds of the crowd cheering, which was truly remarkable."
"The competition was fantastic; I had a really good time. I wasn't sure about the distance between us, so I just gave it my all and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
"I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to test out the new Panigale V4 at Misano, and I'm eagerly anticipating the chance to practice on it moving forward."
The premier event featured the 15 leading Ducati competitors from MotoGP, World Superbikes, and British Superbikes.
They had taken the recently introduced Panigale V4 for a spin, a motorcycle that Ducati had revealed just a few days prior.
MotoGP titleholder Bagnaia demonstrated his dominance by clinching victory in the Champions Race.
This coming weekend, he's set to defend his championship at the British MotoGP in Silverstone, currently holding a 10-point advantage over Jorge Martin.
