Ducati’s 2025 Lineup Shakeup: Tardozzi Confirms Di Giannantonio’s Official Bike and Morbidelli’s GP24 Amid Team Reshuffles
Davide Tardozzi has affirmed that Franco Morbidelli will continue to ride a GP24 Ducati in the upcoming season.
Davide Tardozzi has officially announced that Fabio Di Giannantonio will be equipped with a GP25 Ducati motorcycle for the MotoGP season in 2025.
While it has not been officially verified, it appears Di Giannantonio will remain with the VR46 team for the upcoming season.
As Pramac shifts from Ducati to Yamaha, the Italian manufacturer is set to reorganize their lineup of riders and motorcycles for the 2025 season.
Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez are set to ride factory-level motorcycles for the Lenovo team, while Di Giannantonio will be equipped with a GP25 motorcycle under the VR46 banner.
According to Tardozzi, Franco Morbidelli will be on a GP24, marking the extent of the newest Ducati motorcycles available.
In a conversation with Canal+, Tardozzi revealed: "Di Giannantonio will receive an official motorcycle, while Morbidelli will ride a GP24."
Morbidelli, presently without a confirmed spot for 2025, will be transitioning to the VR46 team, joining forces with Di Giannantonio.
This indicates that Fermin Aldeguer will team up with Alex Marquez at Gresini Racing, filling the spot left by Marc Marquez.
On Friday morning, Tardozzi didn't just limit his conversation to one topic; he also delved into the recent 'Race of Champions' that took place during World Ducati Week.
The discussion once again centered on Marc Marquez, who admitted on Thursday to his error that led to a collision with Nicolo Bulega in Ducati's exclusive race.
"Tardozzi highlighted Marc's competitive spirit to Simon Crafar in the first free practice at Silverstone, noting, 'Marc competes with fervor,' he said. 'He's a victor through and through, never settling for less than a podium finish.'"
"I prefer not to say too much. Regrettably, there was an incident, but fortunately, Bulega's shoulder issues are not severe."
"Initially, it was tough, but during our conversation yesterday, it's evident he's on a swift path to recovery. These types of incidents occur in racing."
"At times, one might believe it's all about the thrill of the competition rather than merely tallying up scores. However, Marc is a true competitor, focusing solely on enhancing his own performance."
