At World Ducati Week, Nicolo Bulega had a crash at the final corner due to an incident involving Marc Marquez. This allowed Marquez to secure a spot on the podium.
Ducati announced that Marquez and Bulega "had a collision".
However, the Lenovo Race of Champions was eventually claimed by the flagship representative of the Italian manufacturer.
Ducati's CEO, Claudio Domenicali, expressed that the Lenovo Race of Champions is a fantastic event for motorcycle enthusiasts.
"I really enjoyed myself throughout the race, and witnessing the sea of red in the stands at the Misano Circuit during World Ducati Week was incredibly moving."
"Well done to Pecco, who has once more demonstrated his exceptional skill by triumphing in a top-tier race. Kudos also go to Andrea and Marc for securing their spots on the podium."
"We wanted Nicolo to be on the podium during the celebration, but he needed to undergo medical checks after the accident, which took precedence."
"The Lenovo Race of Champions at WDW2024 provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the new Panigale V4's capabilities, and the enhanced performance compared to the 2022 race highlights our pride in the development of this motorcycle."
Bagnaia stated: "To begin with, I must express how amazing it was to witness such a large crowd in the stands."
"Despite wearing a helmet during the race, I could still hear the crowd cheering; it was an amazing experience."
"The race was fantastic; I had a really good time. I wasn't sure about the distance between me and the others, so I just gave it my all and thoroughly enjoyed myself."
"I am thrilled to have tested the new Panigale V4 at Misano and eagerly anticipate continuing my training with it in the future."
The marquee event featured the leading 15 Ducati racers from MotoGP, World Superbikes, and British Superbikes.
They were on the recently introduced Panigale V4, which Ducati had revealed just a few days ago.
MotoGP titleholder Bagnaia asserted his dominance by clinching victory in the Race of Champions.
He plans to defend his championship at the British MotoGP at Silverstone next weekend. Right now, he holds a 10-point advantage over Jorge Martin.
