Bagnaia and Marquez were seen making angry gestures towards each other in the gravel following the incident, but it appeared, initially, that they had not sustained serious injuries.
Marquez drifted off track, holding onto third place with six laps left to go.
Starting from the fourth spot, Bagnaia attempted to pass him.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be closely following right behind Marquez's front.
The two bicycles became entangled and veered off the path.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati during their slide.
However, he stood up and motioned towards Marquez, indicating that he was fine.
He moved off with his leather garments ripped and worn on his arm, but possibly lucky that the harm wasn't more severe.
Bagnaia was taken to the medical facility for an examination.
Less than half an hour after their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were observed strolling through the paddock area, no longer in their racing gear, and appearing to be without injuries.
Stewards are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Defending MotoGP titleholder Bagnaia began Sunday three points behind the current championship frontrunner, Jorge Martin.
Securing second place in Sunday's Aragon MotoGP, Martin has now moved to the top of the championship standings, leading by 23 points.
Marc Marquez emerged as the victor in the race.
