Following the incident, Bagnaia and Marquez were seen making angry gestures towards each other in the gravel pit, though it initially appeared that both had escaped serious harm.
Marquez veered off course while trying to hold onto third place, with just six laps to go.
Starting from the fourth spot, Bagnaia attempted to pass him.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be firmly attached right in front of Marquez's.
The two bicycles became entangled and veered off the course.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati while they were skidding together.
However, he stood up and signaled to Marquez, indicating that he was fine.
He moved off, his arm's leather coverings ripped and worn, yet arguably lucky that the harm wasn't more severe.
Bagnaia visited the medical facility for an examination.
Half an hour after their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were seen moving through the paddock area, no longer in their racing suits, and appeared to be without injuries.
Stewards are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Current MotoGP titleholder Bagnaia went into Sunday's race three points behind the championship frontrunner, Jorge Martin.
Martin's second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP on Sunday has propelled him into the championship lead, now ahead by 23 points.
Marc Marquez emerged victorious in the race.
