Bagnaia and Marquez exchanged heated gestures in the gravel following the incident, but initially appeared to have escaped serious harm.
Marquez veered off course, holding onto third place with six laps to go.
Starting from the fourth spot, Bagnaia attempted a pass.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be closely trailing right behind Marquez's front end.
The two bicycles became entangled and veered off the path.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati during their slide.
However, he stood up and motioned towards Marquez, indicating he was fine.
He left with his leather garments ripped and worn on his arm, but possibly lucky that the harm wasn't more severe.
Bagnaia visited the health clinic for an examination.
Less than half an hour after their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were seen strolling through the paddock area, no longer in their racing suits, and appearing to be without injuries.
Stewards are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Defending MotoGP champion Bagnaia went into Sunday's race behind championship frontrunner Jorge Martin by a margin of three points.
Martin's second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP on Sunday has propelled him to the top of the championship standings, now holding a 23-point lead.
Marc Marquez emerged victorious in the race.
