Bagnaia and Marquez were seen making angry gestures towards each other in the gravel following the incident, but initially, it seemed they hadn't sustained serious injuries.
Marquez drifted outwards, holding onto third place with six laps to go.
Starting from the fourth spot, Bagnaia made an attempt to pass him.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be glued to the front of Marquez's motorcycle.
The two bicycles became entangled with each other and veered off the path.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati during their slide.
However, he stood up and motioned towards Marquez, indicating he was fine.
He moved off, his leathers ripped and worn on his arm, but perhaps lucky that the injuries were not more severe.
Bagnaia was taken to the medical facility for an examination.
Less than half an hour after their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were seen strolling through the paddock, no longer in their racing suits, and appeared to be unharmed.
Stewards are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Defending MotoGP titleholder Bagnaia commenced Sunday with a three-point deficit behind championship frontrunner Jorge Martin.
Martin's second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP on Sunday has propelled him to the top of the championship standings, with a lead of 23 points.
Marc Marquez clinched victory in the race.
