Bagnaia and Marquez were seen making angry gestures at one another in the gravel following the incident, but it appeared at first sight that they had not sustained serious injuries.
Marquez veered off course, protecting his third place with six laps left to go.
Starting from the fourth spot, Bagnaia attempted a pass.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be glued to the front end of Marquez's motorcycle.
The two bicycles became entangled and veered off the path.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati during their slide.
However, he stood up and signaled to Marquez, indicating that he was fine.
He left the scene with his leathers ripped and marked on his arm, yet possibly lucky that the injuries weren't more severe.
Bagnaia visited the medical facility for a health evaluation.
Less than half an hour after their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were seen strolling through the paddock, no longer in their racing suits, and appearing to be uninjured.
Stewards are looking into the event.
Defending MotoGP champion Bagnaia started Sunday three points behind the championship frontrunner, Jorge Martin.
Martin's second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP on Sunday has put him at the top of the championship standings, leading by 23 points.
Marc Marquez emerged victorious in the race.
