Following their collision, Bagnaia and Marquez were seen exchanging heated gestures in the gravel, though it appeared at first that neither had suffered significant injuries.
Marquez veered off track, holding onto third place with just six laps left in the race.
Bagnaia, starting from the fourth spot, attempted a pass.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be closely trailing right behind Marquez's front.
The two bicycles became entangled as they veered off the path.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati during their slide.
However, he stood up and motioned towards Marquez, indicating he was fine.
He departed with his leathers ripped and marred on his arm, but maybe lucky that the harm wasn't more severe.
Bagnaia was taken to the healthcare facility for examination.
Within half an hour following their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were observed moving through the paddock area, no longer in their racing suits, and appearing to be without injuries.
Stewards are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Defending MotoGP titleholder Bagnaia started Sunday three points behind the current championship frontrunner, Jorge Martin.
Martin's second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP on Sunday has propelled him to the top of the championship standings, where he now holds a 23-point lead.
Marc Marquez emerged as the victor in the race.
