Bagnaia and Marquez were visibly upset with each other in the aftermath, exchanging angry gestures in the gravel, but it appeared they had initially escaped serious harm.
Marquez drifted to the outside as he fought to maintain third place, with just six laps left in the
Bagnaia, starting from the fourth spot, attempted to pass him.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be closely attached to the front of Marquez's bike.
The two bicycles became entangled and veered off the path.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati while they were skidding.
However, he stood up and motioned towards Marquez, indicating that he was alright.
He left with his leather garments ripped and abraded on his arm, lucky perhaps that the harm wasn't more severe.
Bagnaia visited the healthcare facility for an examination.
Half an hour after their mishap, Bagnaia and Marquez were seen strolling through the paddock, no longer in their racing suits, and appeared to be without injuries.
Stewards are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Defending MotoGP champion Bagnaia approached Sunday's race behind current championship frontrunner Jorge Martin by a margin of three points.
Martin's second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP on Sunday has propelled him into the championship lead, now holding a 23-point advantage.
Marc Marquez emerged victorious in the race.
