David Coulthard Ranks Red Bull’s Finest: Verstappen Leads, Webber Edges Out Ricciardo in Top Picks
David Coulthard Picks His Best Three Red Bull Racers
David Coulthard Evaluates Mark Webber Versus Daniel Ricciardo
David Coulthard has listed his top three Formula 1 drivers from Red Bull.
When Red Bull made their debut in Formula 1 in 2005, Coulthard led the team as their initial driver, while Vitantonio Liuzzi and Christian Klien alternated as his co-driver.
From that period, Red Bull has secured four drivers' championships with Sebastian Vettel, and currently, Max Verstappen is on track to claim his fourth championship this year.
Former F1 driver Coulthard, currently serving as a representative for the team, was requested to identify the three best drivers in the history of Red Bull.
"He jokingly said to Motorsport, "It's definitely Max, only Max, and always Max."
He further stated, "Nothing can diminish the value of Seb's four world championships."
"However, examining his entire career, Seb's later performances didn't quite match the level of excellence he achieved while securing his world championships."
Observe Michael Schumacher's tenure with Mercedes; his performance during that phase didn't quite match the high standards he set during his time with Ferrari.
"It illustrates that each person has their unique moment, yet evidently, Max should be prioritized."
"Seb holds the runner-up spot with his quartet of global championships."
Following his successful stint at Red Bull, Vettel inked a lucrative contract to drive for Ferrari.
However, the German failed to duplicate his achievements with the renowned Italian brand.
Coulthard ranks Webber higher than Ricciardo
David Coulthard placed Mark Webber ahead of Daniel Ricciardo, naming him as Red Bull Racing's third top driver.
"When it comes to P3, my pick would be Mark Webber over Daniel Ricciardo," he stated.
"This is partially due to Webber refusing to be overshadowed, responding with 'not bad for a No2 driver' as a retort."
Australian racer Webber expressed strong criticism towards Red Bull through the team's radio communication right after claiming victory at the 2010 British Grand Prix.
"He mockingly commented on his status as the secondary driver, expressing frustration with how he was treated in comparison to his teammate Vettel at Silverstone."
Webber competed with Red Bull for seven years, securing third place in the F1 championship three times.
His fellow countryman, Ricciardo, also secured a third-place finish in the championship twice while competing for Red Bull.
Ricciardo is eyeing a return to the team next season, but that hinges on whether the team's confidence in Sergio Perez dwindles.
