Daniel Ricciardo’s Tumultuous F1 Journey: Team Changes, Career Decisions, and a Potential Final Bow in Singapore
Daniel Ricciardo has been reminded of choices that "likely didn't benefit" his Formula 1 career.
Daniel Ricciardo's Formula 1 career is anticipated to conclude following the Singapore Grand Prix.
Daniel Ricciardo has been cautioned that his tendency to switch teams often might have negatively impacted his Formula 1 career.
Ricciardo has acknowledged the possibility of being replaced by Red Bull at their affiliate team RB following the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
With Liam Lawson stepping in, it appears that Ricciardo's time in Formula 1 has come to an end.
Ricciardo achieved the quickest lap in Singapore, benefiting his old teammate Max Verstappen while disadvantaging another former colleague, Lando Norris.
Simon Lazenby commented on Sky Sports that if his friend's last action is to assist him in securing a championship, it would solidify their lifelong friendship.
Anthony Davidson acknowledged Ricciardo's contribution, saying, "A significant reason why fans watch is not solely for the machines, but for the human aspect of the drivers behind them, which motivates viewers."
"Ricciardo has been absolutely entertaining."
Lazenby inquired whether he would have thrived if he had faced the same challenges as others who competed alongside Max, considering his previous success with the senior team.
Jamie Chadwick responded, "Numerous elements have played a role in shaping the current situation."
"The vehicle has changed significantly from its prime. Similarly, Max's driving style has evolved considerably since those days."
"The frequent team changes and the ongoing strain on his mental state, particularly given his current surroundings, likely haven't been beneficial."
"Everything has built up to this ultimate outcome."
"If this is his last race, I hope we see him in a different role within the paddock. He has been an excellent ambassador for the sport."
In my view, Liam Lawson is doing well and merits the position.
During the early stages of his career, Ricciardo stood out as a Red Bull driver partnering with Verstappen, consistently securing victories in grand prix races.
The choice to leave the team and join Renault was a poor decision.
At McLaren, Norris outperformed him, leading to the team letting him go at the conclusion of 2022.
Ricciardo returned to racing last year with AlphaTauri, but he has consistently acknowledged that his ultimate goal was to rejoin Red Bull, a goal that has yet to be achieved.
