### “Daniel Ricciardo Contemplates F1 Future After Singapore Struggles: ‘What Else Is There to Really Go For?
Could this be Daniel Ricciardo's final F1 race? He questions: “What more is there to pursue?”
"I need to ask myself: what more can I accomplish? What else is truly worth chasing?"
Daniel Ricciardo has confessed that, with his immediate future in Formula 1 still up in the air as the break approaches, he is questioning what other goals remain for him to pursue.
Speculation about Ricciardo's future has been rampant, with rumors indicating that Liam Lawson will take his place for the upcoming race at COTA in October.
The Australian faced another challenging weekend in Singapore, ending up in 18th place.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Ricciardo was questioned about his current mindset and how he views his Formula 1 career if the Singapore race turns out to be his last grand prix.
Ricciardo mentioned, "I must also recognize the reason I returned after my time with McLaren. I've always stated that I don't want to come back simply to be part of the lineup."
"I aim to compete at the front again and return to Red Bull. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. I must also reflect on what more I can accomplish and what other goals are worth pursuing."
“I gave it my all, but things didn’t turn out like a fairytale. I also need to reflect on the past 13 years or so.”
"I’m quite proud, and although drivers usually don't pay much attention to the 'Driver of the Day' award, I have to admit that I really appreciate it today. This particular recognition feels special to me."
Although Ricciardo faced challenges during the afternoon in Singapore, he managed to achieve the quickest lap time.
Max Verstappen's chances in the championship have improved thanks to securing the fastest lap, which had previously been in Lando Norris's possession until Ricciardo's final attempt.
Looking back on the race, Ricciardo commented: "It was challenging. After yesterday's qualifying, where we didn't secure a good position, we knew we had to attempt something different. Perhaps a Safety Car might come at a favorable moment."
"It seems that overtaking was quite challenging in this race. There weren't many drivers making significant passes. We decided to take an aggressive approach early on by using soft tires, hoping for a bit of luck along the way."
"It didn't work out. Initially, Friday seemed hopeful, but our speed wasn't sufficient, particularly during the race. I'm not sure about Yuki's performance, but I noticed he didn't finish in the points. Although we started within the points, our pace just wasn't there. In the final laps, Pierre suggested going for the fastest lap, and I thought… if Max wins by a single point, I've just earned myself a nice Christmas gift."
