Bagnaia Declares Dominance Over Marquez as Duo Prepares for Historic 2025 MotoGP Showdown
Pecco Bagnaia: "Right now, I'm better than Marc, but we'll find out next year"
Francesco Bagnaia believes he currently has the upper hand over Marc Marquez, adding that "next year will tell."
In 2025, Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez are expected to create one of the most formidable rider pairings in MotoGP.
Although Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi made a remarkable team at Yamaha, Marquez and Bagnaia are currently among the top three riders in MotoGP.
Currently riding different Ducati models, the duo will switch to the GP25 next season.
Both competitors will strive for the championship, with Marquez looking to establish himself as a consistent challenger to Bagnaia.
In 2024, Bagnaia has maintained an advantage over Marquez. The Italian rider mentioned to Paddock-gp, "At the moment, I'm more formidable than Marc. So, we'll see how things unfold, as people clearly had different expectations of him."
"We let our actions do the talking and refrain from making noise. Our results will tell the story. I’ve always believed in waiting to see the outcome before forming an opinion."
"We initially predicted that Marc would win with the Ducati, but now we acknowledge that he doesn't have the same motorcycle. We'll have to wait and see what happens next year."
For numerous people, it has been unexpected that Marquez has not secured a victory in any race this season.
The eight-time world champion has shown the capability to achieve this at times, but in the end, has not succeeded.
Although it is not anticipated to be the situation throughout the entire 2024 season, Bagnaia feels confident that he possesses the necessary mentality to regularly secure victories and outdo Marquez, a conviction he demonstrated earlier this season in Jerez.
Bagnaia commented: "We'll see what happens; I need to enjoy myself and give my all. We understand our capabilities and know that by getting everything right… I am fully aware that my strength lies in assessing the situation accurately."
"From my perspective, we don't have many adversaries at the moment."
