Aprilia debuts its latest fairing design at the UK MotoGP.
Starting from this weekend's British MotoGP, Aprilia plans to field four RS-GP24s, thanks to the elevation of Trackhouse racer Raul Fernandez to the newest version of the bike. Additionally, the team will roll out its permitted in-season aerodynamic upgrade.
The second aerodynamic kit, accessible to team racers Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro, as well as the Trackhouse pair Fernandez and Miguel Oliveira, consists of modifications or complete redesigns of over twenty elements related to the bike's bodywork.
The primary objective is to enhance the efficiency, which means improving the relationship between the aerodynamic downforce and the drag generated by the aerodynamic instruments.
Additionally, the downforce created by ground effects has been enhanced when the motorcycle leans into curves, and its vulnerability to crosswinds has been reduced.
A noticeable modification is the addition of a vertical lip resembling KTM's design on the side of the updated fairing 'shelf'.
Competitors are also optimistic that the updated fairing design will enhance airflow, or at the very least, reduce the physical strain on riders during intensely hot international races like those in Buriram, Sepang, and Mandalika, especially following the previous year's problems with overheating.
