Alex Rins withdraws from the rest of the British MotoGP
Ongoing issues from Assen compel Yamaha racer to pull out
Alex Rins has had to pull out of the rest of the British MotoGP because of an injury.
The Yamaha racer, who signed a fresh deal at Silverstone to commit his future to the brand, recorded the 18th-fastest time in Friday's practice session.
However, he won't be participating in the races on Saturday or Sunday as he continues to recover from the injury he got in Assen.
Rins stated that they have done a commendable job with the setup throughout the day.
"We made continuous progress, particularly during the final phase of our practice sessions."
"Following my surgery and the absence from the German Grand Prix, I was enthusiastic about getting back on the bike."
"I felt more wrist pain than anticipated after completing numerous laps today."
"I'll need to visit my physical therapist for recovery sessions and to assess my health."
On Friday night, it was decided to withdraw Rins.
Rins sustained injuries to his hand and foot in a crash at Assen, causing him to miss the German MotoGP.
Even though he had the summer off, he hasn't managed to get back in shape for Silverstone.
Rins now needs to decide if he will be able to compete in Austria in two weeks for the upcoming round.
