**Alex Marquez Denies Deliberate Collision Accusations After Aragon MotoGP Incident with Bagnaia**
Alex Marquez Addresses Allegations: “I would never intentionally collide with another rider”
Alex Marquez denies any claims that he 'intentionally' collided with Francesco Bagnaia, stating: 'Such actions are not a part of my nature, nor are they a part of this sport's principles.'
Alex Marquez has issued a response after coming across some comments following the incident with Francesco Bagnaia during Sunday's Aragon MotoGP race.
The two riders were caught in a serious crash as Bagnaia tried to overtake the Gresini competitor for the third position, following Marquez's wide turn.
The FIM Stewards concluded that no additional measures were necessary as they found that neither rider bore the majority of the blame.
Marquez appears displeased with Bagnaia's remarks implying that the Gresini racer maintained throttle instead of steering clear of a collision.
Bagnaia shared with MotoGP.com that right after he took the next corner, number 13, he could hear the other rider accelerating. It was clear to him that the rider was attempting to make contact.
"I aimed to review the data… He maintained a throttle position between 60 percent and 40 percent open right up until the crash occurred. This behavior seems quite unusual for a rider, in my opinion."
On Monday, Marquez shared a post on social media:
"Having reviewed various statements, I would like to clarify the following:
"I would never intentionally collide with another racer, and I refuse to be accused of doing so. Such actions go against my principles and the very essence of this sport."
"The key takeaway for me is the discussion I had with Pecco yesterday, and as far as I'm concerned, the matter is resolved."
"Now it's time for me to rest and recuperate so I can be at peak condition for Misano."
Both Marquez and Bagnaia were lucky to escape major injuries and are set to return to racing at Misano this coming weekend.
Alex's teammate and sibling, Marc Marquez, clinched victory in the Aragon race, while Jorge Martin secured second place, extending his lead over Bagnaia to 23 points.
