**Aleix Espargaro Criticizes Aragon Track Conditions After Sprint Race Crash: “Half the Grid Dirty”**
Aleix Espargaro crashes during Aragon sprint: “Unacceptable, track is partially dirty”
Aleix Espargaro expresses frustration over Saturday's track conditions
Aleix Espargaro expressed his dissatisfaction with the state of the track following the early conclusion of his sprint race in Aragon.
During Saturday's Aragon MotoGP, the Aprilia racer faced difficulties at the starting grid, similar to several other competitors.
In an instant, he fell back several places, collided with Fabio di Giannantonio, and ended up crashing at the first turn.
"Initially, my back tire lost grip, but fortunately, I wasn't struck by anyone," Espargaro explained to Sky Italia.
"I wish they take action before Sunday’s race: getting hit from behind is hazardous and poses a safety risk."
"Cleaning the track, at the very least, would be a good first step."
“It’s unfair for part of the grid to be spotless while the other part remains unclean; everyone deserves equal conditions.”
His critique mirrors what Francesco Bagnaia has said.
The current MotoGP champion and points leader ended up in ninth place in the sprint race, and had a rough beginning due to starting on the less clean side of the track.
"I began the race from the less favorable part of the grid," stated Bagnaia.
During the Safety Commission meeting yesterday, I made a clear request: "Please clean the track and the starting grid." I emphasized that failing to do so could cause issues, and indeed, it did become a problem.
"I was fortunate that Alex Marquez was quick to react behind me, which helped him avoid a collision. However, it was a very risky situation."
The Sunday warm-up has been moved to a new time to include practice starts, aiming to address the problems that several riders encountered on Saturday.
