Acosta and Quartararo Lead the Pack in Dramatic Saturday Practice at 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP
Results from Saturday's practice session at the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP in Misano, marking the 14th round of the 2024 world championship series.

Authorized Records for Misano MotoGP:
Top lap: Francesco Bagnaia clocked 1 minute 30.286 seconds (2024)
Quickest lap of the race: Marc Marquez completed it in 1 minute and 31.564 seconds (2024)
Pedro Acosta and Fabio Quartararo unexpectedly top the charts in the last practice session for the 2024 Emilia Romagna MotoGP.
On Friday, Yamaha racer Quartararo secured the fifth position, making him the best non-Ducati rider. He navigated through numerous insects to achieve the fastest lap time, surpassing Francesco Bagnaia and Marc Marquez.
However, Acosta, who was using the new swingarm wings recently tested by KTM wild-card rider Pol Espargaro, managed to beat Quartararo’s top time by 0.004 seconds on his 13th and final lap.
On Friday, Marquez was slightly slower than Bagnaia and Jorge Martin during both the time attack and when using the medium rear tyre. However, he initially took the lead during the half-hour session when he switched to soft tyres.
However, Marquez fell at Turn 14 after being overtaken by Bagnaia and Quartararo.
The 20-degree temperature was almost too cold for the favored medium front tire, which was expected to be used for both the Sprint and the grand prix. As a result, riders such as Marc Marquez and Acosta opted for soft front tires instead.
After being absent from Friday afternoon's practice because of a high fever, Alex Rins returned to the track this morning but ended up with the slowest time.
The first qualifying session is about to start, featuring competitors who didn't make it into the top ten on Friday. Among them are Red Bull racers Brad Binder and Jack Miller.
